Meet the talented folks of Issue Sixty-Six…

Rose Mary Boehm
A German-born UK national, Rose Mary Boehm now lives and works in Lima, Peru. Two novels and a poetry collection (“TANGENTS”) have been published in the UK. Her latest poems have appeared –  or are forthcoming – in US poetry reviews. Among others: Toe Good Poetry, Poetry Breakfast, Morgen Bailey, Burning Word, Muddy River Review, Pale Horse Review, Pirene’s Fountain, Other Rooms, Requiem Magazine, Full of Crow, Poetry Quarterly, Punchnel’s,  Avatar, Verse Wisconsin, and Naugatuck River Review.

Justin L. Parnell
Justin L. Parnell is a grant writer living in Salt Lake City, Utah.  A graduate of the University of Utah, He has presented his poems at the 27th annual National Undergraduate Literary Conference, and was awarded the Craig Arnold Memorial Poetry Prize in 2011.

Jay Carson
A seventh generation Pittsburgher, Jay Carson teaches creative writing, literature, and rhetoric at Robert Morris University, where he is a University Professor and a faculty advisor to the student literary journal, Rune.  Active professionally, Jay regularly presents, reads, and publishes.  More than 60 of his poems have appeared in local and national literary journals, magazines, and anthologies.  He co-edited with Judith Robinson a collection of Margaret Menamin’s poetry entitled, “The Snow Falls Up.”  Jay has recently published a chapbook, “Irish Coffee,” with Coal Hill Review. A full-length book of his poems entitled “The Cinnamon of Desire” was published by Main Street Rag in the late fall of 2012.  Jay considers his poetry Appalachian, Irish, accessible, the problem-solving spiritual survival of a raging, youth – and just what you might need.

David Spiering
David Spieringhas published three chapbooks and one full length collection “My Father’s Gloves” out from Sol Books of Minneapolis. To support himself while writing he has been a co-op baker, a natural foods and produce clerk, a cook and a university English instructor. He is working on redrafting a novella and has another poetry collection ready to submit.

Angela Maria Williams
Angela Maria Williams has been an indie bookseller, workshop leader, editor, and journalist for more than a decade. She is the editor of Fickle Muses and holds an M.F.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, as well as a B.A. in English from the University of New Mexico. Her work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Tar River Poetry, Poydras Review, Diverse Voices Quarterly, Rose Red Review, Contemporary American Voices, At-Large Magazine, Sage Trail and Conceptions Southwest.

Brad Rose
Brad Rose was born and raised in southern California, and lives in Boston.  Brad’s poetry and fiction have appeared in: The Baltimore Review; Off the Coast; Third Wednesday; The Potomac; San Pedro River Review; Santa Fe Literary Review; Barely South Review; Right Hand Pointing; Sleetmagazine; Boston Literary Magazine; Short, Fast and Deadly; and other publications. Jon Alston
Jon Alston is a native of Northern California and graduated with an MA in Creative Writing from California State University, Sacramento. Married for over seven years, he and his wife run JSA Photography. On the off chance he isn’t writing or working on photography, he works for Copilot Press editing and binding handmade books. His work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in such journals as Midnight Screaming, Conium Review, Skive, and The Encyclopedia Project. Writing is his life.

Priscilla Mainardi
Priscilla Mainardi is a registered nurse and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the MFA program in creative writing at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.  Her writing appears in Toad, The Writing Disorder, Nurse.com, Pulse Magazine, and The Legendary.  

Shannon Hennessey
Shannon Hennessey is a sophomore at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry where she is pursuing a degree in forestry. She is currently spending the year at their Ranger School campus in Wanakena, New York learning about trees, chainsaws, and the lumberjack lifestyle.  Her work has appeared in Flyway: Journal of Writing and the Environment, Menda City Review, Shaking Magazine, Whitewash Dreams Magazine, Red Dirt Review, and Willow’s Wept Review.
